Passion of Gardening

The picture below taken from the side of extended balcony.

Pistia stratiotes, or known as 'Water lettuce' in english, 'Kiambang' in malay or 'fu ping' in mandarin. Obviously, from this picture you can probably concluded that my rebellion refuse to accept the facts from book is extending further into gardening. With trials & errors, as a result they seems doing well on terrestial with bit moisture. though there are some dramatically changes especially the roots structure.

Cost me about RM 60 to buy this pot of orchid. if am not mistaken, there are at least four species in it. No idea at all about their name. All that matter to me is how to let them grow well with my own ways knowing that chances are i might failed. However, one of the species name has something to do with the rodent tail.

See those grayish white fences? yup, there were set up to defence my plants from the those bloody-nuisance Dark Creatures..

Now, you probably have a hunch the Dark Creature i kept mentioning? i must admit, sometimes they are very cute, they way how they run around, the ways how they approach me for attention and permission. HOWEVER, before i set up the fence, they would quite often, waiting next to their targeted plants - that i have been striving hard to grow - for the moment when my focus turn away from them. When i did that, without any mercy, they chewed up a whole chunk of leaves. Later when i turn around looking back at them, they would lower their head pretending eating the grass or immediately run back to their cage which they know well that i wouldnt spank them if they are in the cage. Funny as it sounds, at these times, i really felt like BBQ them!!

Luckily i caught them chewing my curry-leaves plant, else it would have entirely gone by now. So far, by record they have murdered five chillies plants and three curry-leave plants.

Took the knocked down window grill and attached it at the fence as shown in both pictures above. Hopefully, the cripple plants, ferns, ivy and the evergreen would cover the whole iron grill as in my ideally visualization.

am into gardening probably thanks to my parents. During my childhood & teenage, watching how my parents appreciate the nature and the beauty of those plants they grew back at hometown did have some great impact on me.

when the annoying thesis finally over, the first thing that actually crossed my mind was gardening! working in the garden, with Schoorzy, Sasha, Xena & Xavier accompanying me, kinda feel relax, content and so peaceful in mind...except the part where i have to screw my head how to protect my plants from the Darkest Creatures ever on earth (will elaborate more on that later in this same post). watching those plants blooming, getting taller, observing the insects and birds started to gather around, & those soothing different tones of green and earth colours...these do help me a lot in tackling my GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) ..it seems like during the moment of awakening, my mind can only be able to 'rest-in-peace' when dealing with the natures, without other human around.

Also thanks to gardening, am now sorta more discipline with my daily life. most of the time, sleep no later than 11pm & wake up before 6am. Doing so, i manage to spend some meaningful moment of morning in the garden, doing some exercise, brieving some fresh air, spending times with my kids..am really content with my life now, the anxieties no longer heavily bombarding me like they used to be. Dear, *wholehearted* thanks for everything..am now much focus and better in control of my mind and my madness :o)
